Watch Water Move Through The Orchard

I took this video last week while big piles of snow were melting and running down hill. As you'll recall, our rows are oriented slightly off-contour, so water will hit them and then run to the lowest point, where it will finally cross the row. You read about this in books. But I saw it in action! The idea is, the erosive power of water gets diminished as we slow it down and spread it out over the land. The more chances it has to infiltrate, the less it is able to collect into a current and take our soil with it.
