About the event
For hundreds of years various cultures have used alcohol to make medicine from local plants. These methods of extraction vary by tradition, the part of the plant used, the proportion of plant material to alcohol, the state of the plant itself and the desired effect on the whole being.
In this workshop we will explore the various methods of extractions using different types of alcohol content, and proportions of fresh and dried plants in order to form a practical understanding of how to work with tinctures in our everyday lives.
We will work with 2-3 plants in various forms of preparations and learn how to dose and blend tinctures to fit each person’s unique being. This class will prepare you for navigating commercially available tinctures, identifying the products that work best for you and making your own tinctures.
This workshop is intended for anyone who has previously worked with extraction methods such as tinctures, vinegars, infusions, made their own remedies and has a familiarity with local plants.
Light refreshments will be served. Space is limited, please register in advance!
