Hot Sauce Hullabaloo

Calling all home cooks and hot sauce lovers!

Join us for our Summer edition of AOOA’s Seasonal Smackdowns: Hot Sauce Hullabaloo! Home cooks will showcase their homemade hot sauce recipes and compete for fun prizes and the honor of being the “Hot Sauce Hotshot of AOOA”.

If you can’t handle the heat of competing, then we invite you to join us as a taster for the opportunity to sample an array of tasty hot sauces and cast a vote for your favorite! Either way, this contest is not for the faint of heart! Each taster will receive one token to cast their vote for the people’s choice award.

At the end of the event, two top winners will be selected: one chosen by our celebrity judges and one people’s choice.

Each winner will receive a trophy plus a delightful goodie bag valued at $250 filled with farmstand treats and culinary delights to enjoy at home, including: AOOA in-house distilled liquor, vegetables, AOOA merch, and D’Artagnan charcuterie.

Contestant registration is open through August 18.

ADDITIONAL INFO FOR CONTESTANTS: 

Contestants will receive:

• a one-time 25% discount on ingredients from the Farm Stand
• 1 complimentary AOOA farm fizz on the day of the competition
• Space and tasting supplies to present their hot sauce to both celebrity and public judges, with on-site support from AOOA staff.

Contestants are required to:

• Submit 16 ounces of their unique home-kitchen hot sauce recipe for consideration for all judges and attendees to taste (celebrity judges will evaluate the sauce on taste, appearance, and texture)
• Shop their own selection of peppers from local awesome Orange County Farms! AOOA will have peppers for sale, but we also have so many amazing farms in our area that grow peppers too!
• Bring two printed copies of their recipe (and email us one at hello@alloneoneall.com)
• Arrive thirty minutes early to check in, set up and decorate their tasting table (we'll provide spoons and focaccia for tasting)
• Stay for the duration of the event to talk up their hot sauce!
