About the event

Immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings of AOOA Farm for an introductory workshop on watercolor sketching. This session will focus on getting started, selecting materials, understanding principles of composition, and working with watercolors. Participants will get to make their own watercolor pieces!

No prior experience is necessary. Participants may either bring their own supplies (cold press watercolor paper/sketchbook, basic watercolor palette, watercolor brushes) or purchase an art kit for an additional $5.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, and bring sunscreen, bug protection, and water. A tote bag or backpack for carrying supplies is recommended. You are welcome to bring a sketching stool, though it’s not required as there are many spots to sit.

Light refreshments will be served.

Space is limited, please register in advance!

Ages 10+

About the instructor: The workshop will be led by Eileen MacAvery Kane, Artist-in-Residence for 2024 at All for One, One for All Farm in Goshen, NY. A Hudson Valley native, Eileen’s work explores the relationships between nature, spirituality, community, and memory. The interaction of these elements, and the sometimes unlikely pairing of them, is what interests her. Learn more about her here: https://linktr.ee/macavery.
