About the event
There is always work to be done at the farm! Come lend a hand in the market garden along with friends from the community. Depending on the season, activities might include planting, bed prep and maintenance, harvesting, and more.
Join us for a few hours of fieldwork while our vegetable farmer Meg answers any questions about AOOA's approach to regenerative agriculture within the market garden and how you can apply some of these concepts at home. Then, finish up with some complimentary snacking from the Farm Stand!
Prepare to get dirty! AOOA is a working farm. We recommend wearing weather-appropriate, outdoor work attire (hat, sunglasses, layers, rain gear, gloves, closed-toed shoes, etc.) and packing a reusable water bottle. For Ages 16+. Children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Meg has spent the past ten years working in agriculture with a focus on restorative and ecologically sound practices. Experiences in the garden enliven her, whether she is harvesting the plants grown for food and medicine, getting dirty stewarding the soil, swapping stories, or making new friends. She chooses this work in an effort to reconnect herself and her community with the joys of a hardworking yet simple life.
