About the event
Join us for a colorful slide show about Monarch butterflies, milkweed species native to New York, and other insects that call milkweed home. Afterwards, we will take a stroll on the property to identify milkweed and the creatures we may find on them. We will discuss how to manage common milkweed so it continues to attract female Monarchs throughout the egg laying season and how to propagate milkweed from seeds or transplants. Every participant will take home a free native milkweed plant or a native nectar plant! This is great for those who want to improve their gardens in a way that supports local ecology.
Light refreshments will be served.
Space is limited, please register in advance! This workshop is for adults, but young adults ages 16+ are welcome
