About the event
Join Heather Sloan (AOOA AIR ‘25) to learn the art of band weaving, a simple and fun way to produce beautiful ribbons and bands that have been used to decorate clothing and household goods since the early Bronze Age! These are perfect for bag or instrument straps, pet leashes, head bands, trim for your jeans - you name it! In this workshop, we’ll use the back strap method with a small rigid heddle and shuttle to weave a short bookmark band or, for the ambitious, a longer length one that can be used for whatever you want! Heddle, shuttle, and yarn provided.
Light refreshments will be served. Space is limited, please register in advance! Ages 14+
