About the musicians:
Krista Bennion Feeney, Violinist, is very active as a chamber musician, soloist and orchestral leader in both historical and modern settings. She’s served as concertmaster of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s since 1983, and has soloed with many orchestras including the symphonies of San Francisco and St. Louis and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. From 1999-2006 she was the music director of the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and as a founding member of the Ridge Quartet she was nominated for a Grammy and the recipient of the Diapason d’Or Award for the quartet’s recording of Dvorak’s piano quintets with Rudolf Firkusny. “Her deep notes were rich and melancholy… there was a tender exuberance in both tumbles of notes and sustained phrases… a dramatic interplay of ferocity and light slyness.” - The New York Times, May ‘14
Jessica Troy, Violinist, wears many freelance hats. She is a member or performs regularly with: Philharmonia Baroque, Trinity Wall Street, the Sebastians, St. Luke’s, NYC Opera, Mostly Mozart Festival. She can be heard on the Marlboro Festival’s 50th anniversary CD in György Kurátg’s Microludes, which she prepared with the composer. She has played in numerous Broadway pits (ranging from Porgy & Bess to Tootsie) and on many film scores (most recently Joker and Little Women). She has recorded quartet tracks for Lou Reed and Ani DiFranco, performed on tv with Renée Fleming and Whitney Houston, and on film with David Byrne.
John Feeney, Principal Double Bass of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, the American Classical Orchestra and Opera Lafayette is a chamber musician and soloist of international renown. John has performed as a guest bassist with the Vienna Philharmonic. An avid Viennese Violinist, in 2010 he co-founded the Serenade Orchestra and the Serenade Quartet, performing many dozens of concerts featuring the music of 18th and 19th Century Vienna.
NY Times: “A skilled and passionate performance… bravura and solid passages that feature rapid passagework and double stops which featured Mr. Feeney played with flair.”
