About the Role
We are seeking full or part-time farmers to join the AOOA team. Ideal candidates have spent at least one full season working on a farm in fruit/veggie production and/or livestock care. We are looking for kind, reliable, organized and hardworking people who are committed to developing their agricultural skills and are a great fit with our team. Though experience is preferred, we are open to training those with a track record of success in other physically demanding roles.
Availability on at least one weekend day is required.
Compensation & Benefits
$20/hr
30 minute unpaid lunch; veggies and eggs from the farm; earned vacation days; federal holidays and sick days; health insurance with employer commitment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
● In the orchard and garden beds: plant, weed, mulch, prune, trellis, fertilize, harvest, turn beds, spread compost
● Perform livestock chores for sheep and laying hens: feed & water, rotate pastures, egg collect and wash, hoof trim, muck trailers and barns
● Plant and maintain silvopasture and orchard trees
● Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
● Promote continuous improvement of workplace organization and safety
● Operate equipment safely and effectively
● Perform additional job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

● Strong work ethic and attention to detail
● Excellent time management and communication skills
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
