About the Role
AOOA is seeking a reliable, friendly and hardworking dishwasher/steward for our Farm Stand. You will play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our farm stand by helping maintain a cleaned and organized kitchen. Your primary responsibilities will be to keep a steady supply of clean dishes for the kitchen throughout service as well as keeping the back of house organized.
The ideal candidate has an interest in farm-to-table, has 1-3 years experience as a dishwasher in a commercial kitchen and will be able to work well in a team environment. This is a seasonal part-time position, with shifts Friday through Sundays with the possibility of Thursday shifts to help with kitchen prep. Job starts mid-March and runs until mid-November.
Required Shifts:
Fridays: 11am-5pm
Saturday and Sundays: 9:30am-6:00pm
Possible Thursday 9am-5pm for those with kitchen prep skills
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is $17-20/hour and is dependent on experience.
Please note: We do not provide housing, and the farm is not easily accessible by public transportation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware and equipment
Keep the dish room clean, organized, and functional
Support kitchen team with opening and closing tasks
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization in back-of-house and public spaces
Assist in restocking supplies such as drinking glasses, plates, etc.
Run food during happy hour
Assist with basic food prep (peeling, washing, cutting, etc.)
Adhere to health and safety standards
Assist in deep cleaning tasks
Contribute to smooth daily operations with a fast and can-do attitude
Assist in opening and closing tasks
Required Qualifications
Positive, team-oriented, and dependable
Prior experience as a commercial dishwasher preferred
Able to work independently and stay on task
Punctual and detail-focused
Basic English communication
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Handy and open to kitchen prep
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
Excellent time management and strong sense of pace and urgency
Have reliable transportation
